Baby Fever

Over the past two months, I have attended several baby showers, thrown a nautical style shower for a dear friend and participated in CBS The Talk’s annual baby shower show (where we gave 275 deserving moms-to-be a 1 million dollar shower.) Here are a few of my favorite snapshots…capturing all the baby fever.

Nautical invitations for a boy. Cherry invites for a girl.

Striped napkins with seashells, I added blue food coloring to the water in all of the flower vases to give more of a nautical feel, Fisherman’s net from Pottery Barn on the tables, Buoys for centerpieces, Paper lanterns for outside, Ship wheel coasters from J.Crew.

Salt water taffy, Fresh limeade, Whale pitchers, Mason jars wrapped in twine with life savers for the signature cocktail, Crab cakes (recipe here), Shrimp cocktail, Lemon pasta with shrimp (recipe here) served in take-out containers (stamped with anchors) and served with chopsticks. And the wonderful PR girls in New York at Dylan’s Candy Bar helped me custom make these party favors to go…they are gummy sharks and they are SO good!

Everyone got a lifesaver on a string when they walked in for the “don’t say baby” game, A cute framed print for a babies room (that goes with the theme nicely), Message in a bottle – where guests wrote sweet notes (and the bottle can stay in the babies room), A clothesline.

I couldn’t resist these mini Sperry Top Siders as part of my nautical themed gift , Wrapping for a baby girl, A cute pot filled with small hand towels and burp cloths (that looks like a floral arrangement), A diaper cake.

The set at The Talk the day of the shower was great inspiration for a babies room. I wore this mint colored lace dress (paired with a BCBG belt) which is a nice color for any Spring shower.
